Experience

John was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. He attended the Nichols School and went on to obtain a dual degree in History and English at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York in 1990. John is a 1993 cum laude graduate of the Syracuse University law school where he was elected to the Justinian Honor Society during his third year. While in law school, Mr. Visco participated in a clerkship for the Hon. Thomas Murphy, J.S.C. and provided pro bono legal services to indigent clients through the Syracuse University Law Clinic.

John has been representing healthcare professionals and institutions for over 25 years. He has successfully litigated numerous cases to verdict throughout the New York Court System. He has vast experience in the resolution of matters through voluntary and court ordered arbitrations and mediations. John also focuses on the representation of medical, dental, and nursing professionals in matters related to professional discipline and licensure. In addition, John has counselled area hospitals, nursing homes, and medical professionals on matters involving mental hygiene law, medical privacy law, and other health law related issues.

John has been listed as one of the top 5% of medical malpractice defense attorneys in Upstate New York by Super Lawyers from 2014-2018. He has regularly lectured on healthcare related topics at local hospitals and he is a yearly guest lecturer at the Daemen College School of Nursing.
